This is a D&D 5e game run in a “Westward Marches style.” Well what does that mean? It means you the adventurers are free to go and do whatever you like where ever you like. You begin play in a town or “home base” and set off with fellow adventurers to explore the wild, untamed land all around. Generally speaking the lands get progressively more dangerous the further you get from “home” Players set the tone of this game, through exploration they can determine what is or isn’t important to them and where they go, however there is no adventure in town so you must venture out if your to seek fame and fortune.
Unlike a traditional game you do not have a set group of individuals with which you set out with every session. There is a pool of players and when you wish to set out you assemble a group and head out so each game you may have different companions with you. The games are scheduled somewhat loosely around player availability and if the DM is available you can set off anytime. At the end of each session players are returned to town through magic or whatever means necessary (this requires suspension of disbelief) and when ready can again jump back into the wild.
Information sharing and player interaction is important to this style of play as through your exploration you share with others what you come across, potential places to explore, quests to be had, and where the baddies are. Character Creation
